RUNNING FOR RILEY

As Lee is passionate about his running and Kelly ‘attempts’ to run, they both participate in runs that raise money for charities that support stillbirth research and parents who have experienced the loss of a child through stillbirth.

Lee has run the Glass house 100 miler (162kms) twice in honour of Riley. Each year, in September he aims to run this ultra marathon race and beat his time.

Kelly has run and organised a team to run the Bridge to Brisbane in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The vision is that we get lots of people to participate in Running for Riley and raise money for these worthwhile charities.

If you would like to get involved please let Lee and Kelly know.

We hope that this encourages people to keep fit and healthy, get people together to celebrate their personal achievements, raise money for families  who experience loss and for Stillbirth research, and lastly, make stillbirth less taboo and generally GET RILEYED!!

In 2013, the year after losing Riley, Kelly organised a team of people to 'Run For Riley' in the Bridge to Brisbane. This tradition has lasted 5 years (2013 - 2017)and has raised over $33 672.93  .  We have had people in their sixties to babies participate in Running For Riley.

Lee set out to run the Glasshouse 100 Miler in 2013, the year after losing Riley. In September he had a crew of people that supported him to complete the race, in which he ran in 21 hours and he came 7th. He did this all while having a photo of Riley strapped to his forearm. Lee attempted to do this gruelling race once again in 2014, but at about the 97km mark had to pull out due to a severe injury to his hip. Lee has been working hard to overcome this injury for the last 4 years. He is fit again but due to "daycare" inflicted chest infections the Glasshouse 100 will have to wait until 2019.

The Glasshouse Hundred event has helped Lee raise $1655.00
